Naturis Organic Bread

Trying to find a bread that has no gluten, wheat, dairy, yeast or sugar is close to impossible! I found a brand which I was using for quite some time and then realised that the ingredients had changed and sugar had been added to the list of ingredients. I was close to tears as I LOVE bread and often like to have a piece of toast with my breakfast. I have some good recipes which I use but I don’t always have the time to keep up with our bread demand in our household so it’s nice to have a loaf conveniently available. I decided to spend an afternoon researching what bread options were around. That’s when I found the Naturis Organic Bread brand. (Cue happy dance, and excited squeals!)

I double checked, triple checked and then quadruple checked the ingredients and decided to buy a loaf from my nearest stockist. The verdict:

  • It taste really yummy toasted and crisps up around the crust very nicely. However, the bread is not a very nice texture to eat without toasting so I avoid using it for sandwiches.
  • There are a whole heap of different options including a delicious fruit and nut loaf, buckwheat loaf and a rice loaf. There are also low FODMAP options, spelt options and a corn bread too.
  • My favourite loaves are the buckwheat loaf and the rice and sultana loaf. Yum!
  • Most of the breads are yeast, sugar, dairy, egg, gluten and wheat free however you do need to check the ingredients labeled on each individual loaf as they do vary. However, the website is very clear in stating the ingredients as well as the stockists.
  • The breads are free from preservatives and artificial ingredients.
  • The bread has a short shelf/fridge life so I tend to freeze mine in portions for breakfasts and we just pull out a ziplock bag when we need some and put the bread straight in the toaster.
  • My toddler loves the taste of the bread which is a bonus!!
  • On average I think we pay around $8.00 per loaf from the health food shop.

So, in summary, I know there are other bread options out there for people with special dietary needs but this is one of my favourites by far and I just had to share it with you!

I hope you have a chance to give this brand a go and be sure to let me know what you think of it!

Enjoy
